About Dudley
The Rotary club carries out a range of activities with young people to bring out their talents and recognise their achievements. These include:

SHOWCASING YOUNG PEOPLE'S SKILLS: The Club is pleased to support a number of competitions involving pupils from local secondary schools - Young Chef, Young Musician and Young Photographer. School competitions are held to select their winner and then the Club holds competitions to judge pupils to go forward to the District final. Some of our pupils have gone further to Regional finals. The standard is always remarkably high.

In addition the Club holds Spelling Competitions for local primary schools and, recently one for a secondary school for Key Stage 3 pupils.

AIMING FOR EXCELLENCE AWARDS: The Rotary Club of Dudley makes annual awards at various local primary and special schools to young pupils who have been rated by their teachers as Best Achiever of the Year. The prizes are awarded to boys and girls who have shown success despite personal or family difficulties. Eight schools now take part in the scheme.

'RYLA':
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a leadership program coordinated by Rotary Clubs around the globe. Each year the Dudley club sponsors one or more young individuals aged between 16 and 18 to participate in a week’s camp, organised by our Rotary district, to develop personal confidence, leadership and team building skills.
